I will be visiting with my grandson for the coming week and am finding him so fascinating that it is hard to find the time to blog. It turns out that being a new grandfather is all that it is cracked up to be. So blogging will be sporadic for the next week.
But what I can report is that even though he is just one month old, he acts more rationally than the current president of the USA.

That’s a bar so low it’s a line painted on the ground.
Congrats on the kiddo.

Have fun with Grandbabby.
It’s not too early to start spoiling him.

Mano,
There is a saying that I am partial to: “grandchildren are revenge”. We can fill them with sweets, fizzy drinks, get them all excited and hand them back…
Have fun, my first grand child is due in late April, the anticipation is great (but not, I suspect as great as my daughter and her wife’s is).

AndrewD,
Congratulations to you and the parents! I can assure you that you will have a lot of fun. I find that I can just sit by my grandson and be endlessly amused by his various expressions even if he is sleeping.

I used to give new parents/grandparents books of Piaget’s perception experiments on children. It really is fascinating to watch new brains come online.

I have heard my friends say grandchildren are so much fun that they regret not having them first.

@Marcus:
I remember my mother (an elementary school teacher) coming back home from University once while she was finishing off her B.Ed. degree, having been previously teaching on a 2-year certificate. Her words were pretty much “If one more professor starts their course with an introduction to Piaget, I am going to scream.”
