First Look Media, the new venture funded by Pierre Omidyar that has hired Glenn Greenwald, Laura Poitras, and Jeremy Scahill among others, has announced that it will be issuing its first digital magazine early next week.

It looks like it seeks to be a fairly full service news organization covering entertainment and sports as well as politics, which is likely necessary to draw the increased viewership necessary to make it self-sustaining financially.

wow that was fast! I was expecting a bit of a wait. The inclusion of sports was an interesting decision, although not one I would have made. But if it increases access to those not aware of honest journalism so be it!
I have high hopes for this.
There is another repoerter who recently left his organization to start a news outlet that focuses on corruption in the justice system. can’t recall his name at the moment, but we’ll be hearing more from him soon I’m sure. It was featured on Democracy Now this A.M.

I think you are referring to Bill Keller, who used to be editor of the NYT and was then a columnist. He is very much an establishment type but the prison corruption beat may bring out the best in him.
