Today Jack and I went out to the country for our walk. It was another dull and chilly day, but we found this lovely horse to talk to. He wouldn’t come closer because of Jack, but we did slowly walk the fence line together. The horse has a bit of a crook in his left back leg with a slight limp, but he wanted to keep us with us and we walked together for quite a while. It was very peaceful.

What a beauty! And that tail, wow. How nice you all had a good walk together.

A real beauty.
I really should go and photograph horses. There are a few places here in Helsinki area with horses in pasture in places easily reachable by walking or public transport.

My cousin had a horse that loved walking alongside the neighborhood kids when they went to and from school.

I love when horses and dogs get along. It’s so beat to watch them trying to signal eachother. “My tail is up! I am not feeling like trying to mess with the big horse!”
“My head is tilted and I am watching you brother-of-wolves.”
Caine says
Dogs need to be specially trained to be around horses. It’s never a good idea to let your dog run after horses, you could end up with a very dead dog that way.

Caine, I agree about dogs and horses. Jack was on a leash and he was quiet and calm. Both animals were curious about each other, but at a respectful distance.
Caine says
Oh, I wasn’t questioning you, Voyager. Just running off Marcus’s comment -- I’ve known too many people who think they let their dog go “run with the horses”, and it hasn’t ended well.
