From Lofty, garden pics. There’s a good number of them, so I’ll be posting them over several days. All photos are 1500 x 996, click for full size.
Around here autumn and winter are important parts of the growing season, the European exotics drop their leaves while the rest of the plants get busy. I put the old manual 80-200 macro zoom lens back on the Pentax Kx to get some close ups.

Mmm, the lemon!
Caine says
My reaction too, that lemon made me hungry.
Lofty says
Lemons feature heavily in my wife’s annual production run of elderflower cordial and champagne every year. If it wasn’t for the bucket loads of sugar I’d say the cordial was 100% home grown product, including the rain water. Both the lemon tree and the elder bush are orphans which have happily adopted our shaded garden after being tossed out of their original homes.

Lofty:
Oh, that sounds wonderful!
Awww. Our Box Elder Maple was an orphan we adopted from a local nursery, who rescued it. Poor thing had been disastrously pruned, basically looked like a stick with a few leaves. It’s flourishing now, wonderfully leafed and quite big.
Ice Swimmer says
The first picture could be from here (60°N, maybe in October), the last not so much. The few red leaves and the wetness “make” the picture.
Caine says
Ice Swimmer:
I agree. Every Fall and Winter, I spend hours looking at fallen leaves, take a lot of photos, too.
Lofty says
Well I’m enjoying retraining the photographic eyeball too. It’s been 15 years since I parked the old SLR.
